Do you consider yourself "lucky"?  Is your luck good or bad?  Do you think you can change your luck?

According to Feng Shui principles, there are three types of luck:  Heaven luck is what you are born with and can't be changed.  However, what we do with what we are given and how we arrange our environment can greatly increase our chances of good luck.

Heaven luck is determined by the time and place of our birth.  You may recognize this as astrology.  But I like to look at it in a broader spectrum.  Who are your parents?  Were they loving, supportive and present in your life-- or were they absent and disapproving.  Obviously the people who raise us have a huge influence over our lives.   I also like to look at our station in life as part of heavenly luck.  Were you born "with a silver spoon in your mouth" and given many of the advantages of wealth and position?  Perhaps you were born in a violent part of the city and barely had enough to eat.  Experts would agree that your chances of success may be enhanced or limited by these factors.  Natural abilities such as intelligence, talent and creativity also enter into it along with whether these abilities were fostered or hindered.  The circumstances of our birth cannot be changed.  So are we doomed to a life of failure if our heavenly luck isn't so auspicious?  Absolutely not- there are two other types of luck that we have much more control over.

Human luck is determined by what we make of what is given to us.  It is what we create through our efforts.  We may rise above the circumstances of our birth or fall prey to it.  A good example is Oprah Winfrey.  She was born into a poor home with parents that told her the best she could hope for was to be a maid to good people.  She was abused.  Her heavenly luck was obviously not what we would deem good.  But Oprah has worked hard to better not only her life but the lives of  countless others.  She is a prime example of the possibility of changing your luck through your own efforts.  On the flip side, many are born with high intelligence, a beautiful voice, or outstanding sports abilities.  Time and time again we have seen people rise to the height of their professions but fall from their pedistals due to outrageous and even illegal behaviour.

The third type of luck is Earthly Luck.  This is the easiest way to bring about good or positive luck.  This is where Feng Shui comes in.  Feng shui seekd to bring our ives into harmony and balance by arranging our enviornment to support, nurture and inspire us.  More and more businesses such as the Trump organization and the casinos in Las Vegas are using this powerful tool to increase business.  In homes Feng Shui is an easy way to better our lives in every way.  I've seen many clients find love, get a better job, and lead happier more fulfilled lives by rearrangin their living spaces.

The most important thing to remember is that Heaven Luck, Human Luck, and Earth Luck all work together to produce our total experience of the world.  Use the talents you were given at birth, work hard to create good work, and harness the power of Feng Shui so that your environment supports your life, and you will have the best luck working for you.
